Copely Developments has operated out of its current facility in Thurmaston for 43 years. In fact, we took ownership of the factory in 2016 with the freehold purchase of the building and surrounding site.
Following the acquisition of Copely Developments by COBA International in 2010, we have seen our clients’ needs develop and our product portfolio expand; from completely new production techniques required for the Suction and Discharge hose range, to totally innovative product lines such as Everflow® – The Unstoppable Hose. With this increased capability has come a need to maximise the facility’s floor space, as well as bring the appearance in line with the exacting standards of the COBA group.
With a busy 2017 expected, it was high time for a facelift to the well-trodden factory floor! Plans were made to reorganise stock, review layout and put aside some time to apply a lick of paint.
“We take huge pride in the products Copely manufactures, and it’s only right that our facilities reflect this commitment. I hope that the refreshed factory surroundings will inspire us further and will allow us to take even greater pride in the business we’re all part of,” says Steve Walton, Operations Director.
In the run-up to Christmas, it was all hands on deck as the whole Copely team got stuck in painting the floor. Over 100 litres of paint were used to transform the floor into a cleaner environment, conducive to streamlined manufacturing.
Plans for regular maintenance have been outlined in order to keep the workspace spick and span. This is a new initiative for our Copely production area which will come into action this year.
It is hoped that this improved working environment will help Copely go from strength to strength, and play its part in helping us to achieve our goals in 2017.
